Matrix Revisited
Three short essays inspired by the films. They explore choice, the limits of a model, and the work of remembering. These are independent interpretations.
Choice and the system
The Matrix began as a film to revisit and became a way to ask questions about learning, rules, and human choice. These notes return to one question: how much can a system understand about the people living inside it?
What a model leaves out
An earlier essay connected Neo, an exception in a fictional system, with the remainder left by a mathematical approximation. The connection is an imaginative analogy: it offers a question to explore, not a proof about the film.
Remembering and learning
The Oracle inspired an earlier experiment in thinking about memory: which experiences should remain close at hand, and which can recede into the background? The fictional character gives us a language for questions, not a scientific model of a brain.

Working on these projects helped me understand what a daemon is and what a server does. The words became clearer as I connected them to programs I was actually running.
A daemon is a program that works in the background, waiting for events or carrying out tasks. A server provides something another program asks for, such as a webpage or data. A server can run as a background process; the two words describe different aspects of its work.
Building a small project gave me a concrete way to ask questions, try things, and gradually understand the systems behind a screen.

이 작업들을 하면서 daemon이 무엇이고 server가 어떤 일을 하는지 이해하게 되었습니다. 직접 프로그램을 실행하고 연결해 보니, 막연했던 말들이 구체적으로 다가왔습니다.
Daemon은 뒤에서 실행되며 일을 처리하거나 사건을 기다리는 프로그램입니다. Server는 다른 프로그램의 요청에 웹페이지나 데이터 같은 것을 제공하는 역할을 합니다. 서버가 백그라운드 프로그램으로 실행될 수도 있습니다.
